Honestly I think that’s why people drop out of engineering, bc they fail a prereq class like Calc 2 or physc and now have to fall back a semester. For engr so much stuff is prereqs that you might fall really behind. That might not be the case if ur not transferring, but knowing what class are prerequisites are good too because if you fail or drop a prerequisite you’re gonna be taking it again instead of moving along with your degree. The advisor for my cc fucked up bad and I was dumb enough to follow a degree plan that didn’t cover all the sophomore level classes so I might graduate a year late despite having all of my heavy maths done by the time I get there. If you are also in engineering, i would go and find a degree plan or graduation track or whatever it’s called where all the courses you are required to take are listed. The last part of my Calc 2 class was just preliminary stuff for Calc 3. I’ll say if you have to take Calc 3 or multivariable calculus it is a lot more straight forward maths than Calc 2 which i think is a lot more figuring out ways to integrate and the highly conceptual stuff from series and what not. I might take linear analysis, but I’ll have to see how my degree plan will finally look like. Those two are the last maths I have to take I believe except for a random grad level maths class. I’m an aero e major and I just finished Calc 3.
